In tough competition among Marcus Hellner, Alex Harvey and Aino Kaisa Saarinen, was Charlotte Kalla of our readers voted as the Athlete of the month for June here at skierpost. Despite her young age, the super strong girl from Sundsvall already has been among the best female skiers in the world for several years. Of great achievements we can mention the overall victory in the Tour de Ski 2008, Olympic gold 10km skating 2010, World Championship gold in the Team Sprint and silver in the relay at the World Championship in Oslo 2011. With good results and charm, the down to earth young girl undoubtedly has become a favorite among cross-country enthusiasts.

This is a man who had so much trouble during his career, that he almost had to quit skiing. But after several years of hard work, this season he finally managed to make a breakthrough, and establish himself among the best cross-country skiers in the world. At the World Cup final in Falun, he sprinted into a magical and deserved 3rd place. Athlete of the Month is the “beast” from Tydal, Niklas Dyrhaug.

Athlete of the month march, is this year's norwegian sprint champion, Eirik Brandsdal (25). This youngster has won the sprint championships two years in a row and has already two World Cup victories in his career. His first victory was in classical technique and the other was in skating, indicating that this versatile skier is a man to be reckoned with in the future.
