Jauhojaervi: muscles empty but the head isn't

Sami Jauhojaervi's body couldn't stand the pressure at the pursuit race in Lahti.

Sami Jauhojaervi's race started very strongly and he pushed the pace for the first miles. Thereafter, his pace slowed, but he still managed to finish at a decent position.

- "The machine would have had more in reserves, but the muscles did not work," said Jauhojaervi in the finish.

Jauhojärvi said to have suffered quite bit from the time zone difference after returning from Vancouver and also believed it to have contributed to this performance.

- "I didn't manage to eat yesterday - I slept by the dish after sitting down. That is why the muscles were empty," Jauhojaervi said, asserting that although the muscles are empty, the head is not.

Tenth place was a very good achievement in Jauhojaervi's opinion, especially to view how his season has so far gone. Jauhojaervi thinks that his ranking wasn't even dimmed by the fact that the so-called hot group was represented only by 13 athletes.

- "Nobody will remember this later. Tenth place in the World Cup is always a good result," he said.

Jauhojaervi will participate at Drammen and Oslo World Cups and if he manages to stay in the top 50 ranking, then also in Falun.

- "I will move on day by day," finished Jauhojaervi.
